lyrics

When the world got full
Of bright wet grey days
And our smiles tumbled stairwise
Like a clumsy child

And our tears fell like glass
Through old honey
And our fingers laid to rust
They were laced with white mold

And all the flowers that we picked
Were just snakes of light
Reflected off suburban rain puddles

And then someone shouted “sleep!”
She was full of claustrophobic

And all the world went monochrome
With ice-colored glitter
Now suspicions could solve themselves
In the fissure of sweaters

With moons trembling in her window canyons
Trembling, snow in my hair

Gutless, don’t be afraid...
She says our bodies mold by thirty...

And no plans could attack our bones
See, we were too sleepy to die
